CBCS May 2020 Private Signings!!!

As collectors are aware, just about all spring comic cons have been canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis, and we can likely expect events to be affected into the summer.

During this downtime from shows, CBCS is giving collectors the opportunity to add some Authentic Signature Program books through a series of high profile private signings.

These signings include Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, Tom King, Mitch Gerads, and Frank Miller. While you don’t have the opportunity to meet the creators through a mail in signing, you also don’t have to wait in a long line at a comic con, and you are following social distancing guidelines.

As you can see in the list of participating creators, there are some prominent pairs – Snyder & Capullo, Cates & Stegman, and King and Gerads. While the separate signing fees for each creator apply, CBCS has advised that you will be able to get more than one signature on a book. For example, I am submitting Batman: Last Knight on Earth 1 to be signed by Snyder and Capullo; and Absoulte Carnage 1 to be signed by Cates and Stegman.

Thanks to CBCS for giving us a bit of what we’re missing through the con cancellations with these signings. For more info visit CBCS on Facebook:

If you’re wondering how all of this will go down amidst COVID-19 related shutdowns, CBCS commented:

“We are collecting books for the month of April and the books will be getting signed at private signings throughout May. By the time these are back at the grading facility We should be back up and grading.”

NOTE: All books must be received by CBCS at the designated address no later than 4/24/20. This address differs from that of CBCS headquarters.

  1. Hi Gary, just wondering did you get your books back from CBCS Snyder/Capullo or Cates and Stegman? I haven’t and I see no indication of any upcoming signings with them. I sent them a bunch of books and I’m starting to get worried.

    1. I haven’t seen any updates recently, but I requested all of my submissions for the signings be press screened, so I expected it would be a long wait. If you follow Greg Capullo on Insta, you can see how busy he is working on Death Metal, so that may have slowed things a bit as well. If I hear any news, I’ll be sure to post an update.
